The TAPAS project has been introduced to the international research community at Ocean Optics XXIV conference in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Stephanie Palmer, TAPAS postdoc from Université de Nantes, presented the first results of assessing the feasibility of offshore Pacific oyster production in the Bourgneuf Bay, France. As part of the TAPAS WP 5 near-field case study, Stephanie is using satellite image-retrieved concentrations of suspended sediment and chlorophyll-a in the water, as well as water temperature to drive oyster growth models. These results are then mapped and analyzed toward site selection identifying areas of the bay where growth is fastest.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 678396.
