Current profiler deployment by AquaBioTech Group team!
The TAPAS team successfully deployed a current profiler on the South-East border of the fish farm in Malta and was placed on the seabed at 12 meters depth. Throughout the deployment, the instrument will collect data every 20 minutes. This current profiler utilizes acoustic Doppler velocities while incorporating additional parameters such as temperature, pressure, tilt and compass information. This instrument is easy to configure and deploy, also can be applied for offshore environments and open sea moorings. The TAPAS team will retrieve the current profiler in two weeks, download the data and deploy it again to further investigate the hydrological characteristics of the study site.
