Arnaldo Marín, from TAPAS partner, University of Murcia presents on relationship between models of dispersion of organic waste from fish farms and the variation of the isotopic niche and bioaccumulation of trace elements on biofilm at Aquaculture Europe Berlin.The objectives of the work are analysing the environmental impact of open water fin fish farms on benthic diatoms marine communities present in biofilm, as well as assessing feasible changes in their ecological structure and chemical composition along an environmental gradient. Biofilm proved to be a good environmental indicator that is highly sensitive to polluting metals and the increase in nutrients from marine farms.
