A news article on The Fish Site features a TAPAS supported study by researchers at University of Stirling which evaluated the concept of ‘beyond compliance’ for the Scottish salmon industry. Beyond compliance refers to activities a company does that are additional to statutory regulatory requirements. The results suggest that while Scottish salmon producers are already doing more to protect the environment than is legally required, they could benefit from adopting a more coherent approach to their actions, in order improve their social licence to operate. The original study was published in the latest volume of Marine Policy.
