The AquaBioTech Group hosted a training workshop funded by Malta Council for Science and Technology for the ‘Application of Stable Isotope Analysis to Aquatic Ecology’. The participants were received lectures from leading professionals, Dr. Alan Deidun (University of Malta), Dr. Brian Hayden (Stable Isotopes In Nature Laboratory (SINLAB) and (University of New Brunswick) and TAPAS team member, Dr. Alexia Massa-Gallucci. The participants were also involved in hands-on laboratory work where they practiced sample preparation techniques. TAPAS project will be conducting stable isotope analysis on the IMTA species, H. poli, as well as other environmental samples to trace nutrient dispersion and assimilation within the local environment and species.
