TAPAS team from Szent István Egyetem - SZIE is starting the analysis of the fish assemblage’s data to find out the effect of the different fish ponds on recipient watercourses within the Hungarian case study. For this research, 85 water samples and 51 sediment samples have been collected along with 8219 specimens from 31 species. The TAPAS team gathered at least 1-year samples from 14 fish pond systems covering seasonal (spring-summer-autumn) specimens. The usage of chemicals is not characteristic in the semi-extensive carp producing ponds. However, the antibiotics content of the manure, used for increasing the productivity of the system neither controlled nor known. Therefore, the Hungarian case study is unique in this field, as no information is available regarding the effect of the residual antibiotic content of the manure on the European carp ponds.
